BIOGRAPHY - I was born in 1972 in Anderson, SC and pretty much left to teach myself most of life's valuable lessons. Being a creative mind, I have always found new and inventive ways to express myself. I'm happy to report that I am still expressing myself.

School had never been one of my favorite past times so I would often be caught clowning around and earning the laughter of my classmates and occasionally even my teachers. I eventually dropped out and got a job.

I joined up with a talented group of guys and formed what seemed to be an up and coming band, Dagger who eventually became Obsidian. We had gone through many experiences and various band names and eventually we became no more. Through the years, we've tried getting back together and playing again, but to no avail.

I am a self taught musician. I have done everything from play bass guitar to rhythm guitar to vocals to eventually drums. I feel I do best with playing drums and singing; however, singing is what I like to do most. I have always felt that there is more of a connection with the audience when you get up on the stage and sing to them. (Especially the ladies..lol.)

I have participated in the creation of several original songs and have even done some studio quality work. Although I do enjoy playing cover songs, it has always been my dream to do something with my own music.

Through the years, I have finally obtained my G.E.D. and began to pursue a certificate in Graphic Arts. I finally found the courage within to try to make something of myself.

Just when I thought everything was finally coming together, I found out I had cancer. I was immediately hospitalized for over a month and nearly died. My life from that moment on was forever changed. After a long and difficult fight for survival, I finally recovered and have been in complete remission for several years. Now that I look back on this experience, I see all the positive changes this has made on my life. I do see why some say that everything happens for a reason.

With the time I had available to me during my illness, I learned all I could about computers which has become one of my newest and greatest endeavors aside from music. I wrote a lot of poetry and song lyrics. I went back to college and completed a program in photography and began taking classes in computers.

I joined up with a band back in 2001 called Dropchord. While it was a pleasure getting out singing and having a good time, eventually, I came to the realization that I didn't want to be a part of "just another bar band" plus my health had begun to decline so I decided to pursue other endeavors.

Several months after leaving Dropchord, I discovered I had cancer again. Luckily, it was also curable and my radiation treatments didn't last too long although I'm still convinced both cancers were related. Cancer did not come and go without leaving scars... both mentally and physically and the fear of its return is never far from my mind... but life goes on and I will continue to make the best of it.

In 2004, the impossible happened. My wife and I had a son.... our little miracle child. He is the light in my life and my most important reason to live. We were told I would likely never be able to father a child with all the cancer treatments I endured.... so even the doctors were shocked. Life is still a continuous battle but each new obstacle we encounter, we face bravely and always find ways to overcome them... One thing the cancer has taught us.... is to never give up hope and to keep fighting for the things most important in life.
